Walk with me through Venice Beach… 1,230 square feet of iconic California. A private commission, I was asked to create a design that embodied several elements: land, sea, all times of day, all colors of the rainbow, both mystical and real characters, culminating in one finely detailed composition that screams “Venice.” Since it would be viewed from both near and far, I wanted it not only to be beautiful from afar, but to also include details that could be appreciated up close; small illustrations of actual people I’ve met and things I’ve seen over the years while living here…that I felt captured the essence of what makes this town so special.
