Perched on a mountain cliff in Echo Park, California, this home carries the feeling of an ancient landscape, and the goal was to bring that landscape indoors. The owner's deep appreciation for Eastern culture was evident in his collection of artifacts and in the home's facade. He envisioned the mural as a gateway from his bedroom, a portal to distant lands where mountains meet the sea.I painted a radiant sunburst, a bonsai, and cherry blossom tree, drawing inspiration from classic Japanese woodblock prints.
